As both a student and teacher, I have come to embrace yoga not only as an ancient system of self-care and spiritual exploration, but as a lifestyle that informs conscious, healthy choices which lead to a sense of wholeness and the interconnectedness of all life. I believe the benefits that we gain and the lessons that we learn through yoga have less to do with how much flexibility we can create in our bodies, but more our hearts and minds.

The emphasis of my training is on vinyasa (flow) yoga, although I incorporate into every class elements of all that I have come to know through various trainings and my own personal practice of the last two decades. I am a Yoga Alliance RYT–200, with ongoing training and accreditation towards my 500 hour level certification.

My goal as a teacher is to deepen students’ experience of yoga in a way that will lead them on their own personal path to the pure joy that lies within us all.  I love the journey that is yoga!

Christina Nichols

Over the past several years yoga has become what started out as just something for me to do into a lifelong journey and passion. I decided to teach yoga to be able to share and guide others through this journey which can lead to peace in both body and mind.

I have my certification in Vinyasa Flow which is my main focus, with hopes of working toward my 200 hour certification. I believe that the practice of yoga is powerful. It can heal the body physically as well as calm the mind and rejuvenate the soul. My desire is for each student to take their own individual experience of yoga on their mat and into life and to live in and for each moment!
Namaste!

Sarah Philbeck

One of the quotes I hold dear is by Mahtma Ghandi: “We must be the change we wish to see in the world”.  I believe that yoga is a path to that change.  My love of yoga began 11 years ago and I received my 200 hour teacher certificate in 2002. I have found yoga to be an intimate and healing journey into the body and spirit. My work as a Licensed Professional Counselor and my practice of yoga intertwine and support one another. My work as a therapist assists me in guiding students in a safe environment through a yoga practice where they can go deeper into their own experience and self discovery.

My teaching is based in the Iyengar style of yoga, which focuses on proper alignment in the poses. Props, such as blankets, blocks, and straps, are used at times to assist people with alignment, which decreases the chance of injury and increases the enjoyment and freedom in the poses. I continue to learn and grow as a student and teacher of yoga and therefore incorporate other styles and approaches as well.

Becky Reavis

Becky is a licensed psychologist who completed her 200-hour training with Kelly Carver, E-RYT at the Samsara Sukha School of Yoga in Iron Station, NC.

She began her yoga practice in 2007 for stress relief in an effort to conceive a child. Fortunately, it was successful in more ways than one! She discovered the vast benefits that yoga offers and felt compelled to share them with others. Becky has not settled on a particular style yet, but she enjoys teaching challenging poses and relishing in relaxation.

I was blessed to find yoga ten years ago when I committed to a more active and healthy lifestyle. Though I first saw yoga as a way to make changes to my body, I have come to treasure it most for the times it has helped me to change intellectually and spiritually. As a former elementary school teacher, I bring a nurturing atmosphere to our classes while encouraging each student to work to their edge in every pose.

I am currently in the process of receiving my RYT-200 hour certification; an invaluable process through which I am gaining a deeper appreciation for the vastness and beauty of yoga.  I am honored to share the beauty and grace that I’ve been blessed to know through yoga!
